ICP-International
ICP-International continues the work of IISA-ICP
During its right-sizing move in late 2004, IISA has appointed USA Fit and ICP-International to continue the work of its inline-skate education vehicle, the Inline Certification Program (ICP). Top ICP Level 3 examiners from ICP-International will further the efforts of IISA-ICP as a not-for-profit education-based organization. It has adopted a "FOR SKATERS" philosophy and approach, providing a platform to promote inline skating through its network of ICP Certified Instructors and skate schools. It embodies a four-fold objective:
1. To work with and seek recognition and endorsement of international and local
sports authorities and organizations to adopt and endorse ICP as a standard
for inline skate instruction.
2. To promote, represent and administer the ICP program to the international
community.
3. To support the recognition and development of ICP instructors through an
international instructor locator, website, insurance coverage, exchange programs,
information and activities to develop instructor teaching, skating and community
relations.
4. To identify and appoint National Directors to administer and/or host ICP
programs in their respective countries.
ICP-International is represented by instructors from UK, Germany, France, Slovenia,
Macedonia, Croatia, Singapore, China, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and
Korea.
As early as 2003, ICP-International has been actively consolidating the work
of ICP instructors around the globe outside of the U.S. The work of ICP-International
was initiated by Ms Kristrine Fondran (IISA International Examiner and ICP,
Director), Mr Norbert Demps (IISA International Examiner, Director ICP Europe),
Mr Felix Yeo (IISA International Examiner, Director ICP Asia Pacific), Mr Edmund
Vong (IISA International Examiner, National Director Singapore) and Mr Moon
Ji Wook (IISA International Examiner, National Director Korea).
ICP International expects its official launch in March 2005 and is committed
to work with USSG (United Skate Schools Group, www.unitedskateschools.org) based
in the US and Skate-Network (www.skate-network.de) in Europe.
The right sizing of IISA has in fact opened the doors for ICP Instructors all
over the world to be represented and become truly INTERNATIONALLY recognized.
